RESIDENTIAL AND REAL ESTATE DESIGN

The British Village Abuja

The British Village was constructed in 1993 to house the staff at the British High Commission in Abuja the new capital of Nigeria.

Steve Ritson was employed by Jardin Landscapes Ltd to design the hard landscape and planting for the newly constructed British Village, which consisted of 22 detached houses with a large clubhouse arranged around a village green.
A number of sitting areas were created with pergolas to provide shade in locations with the best views.

Blue Sky at Widdrington

Green Tyger Design were appointed by Stoneheads Associates to prepare an initial landscape masterplan concept for the Blue Sky development at Widdrington in Northumberland, which included two golf courses, a ski slopes, adventure driving track, holiday villages and a wide variety of new habitats together with a large country park.

Our brief was to prepare a masterplan and a 3d landscape model to demonstrate the concept.

Housing Estate in Devon

This is a small field located near the village of Shebbear in Devon,  with planning consent for 20 houses and Green Tyger Design worked closely with a team of architects and engineers to provide the detailed landscape design for the hardworks (paving, fences and infrastructure areas) and softworks (planting design) for the estate.

The design work included the rebuilding and planting of an existing Devon Hedgebank on the site boundary, which combined traditional methods of construction with the planting of native trees and flowers to increase the biodiversity within the site.

Planning permission was granted in 2022 and we hope to add more photos of the site as it progresses.
